There are seasons in this broken world when the weight of collective suffering and private heartbreak threatens to crush the breath right out of your lungs. You look around at the turbulence of our times—marked by sudden crises, relentless anxiety, and a culture that seems increasingly hostile to truth—and a quiet, exhausting question echoes in the corners of your weary soul: How much longer, Lord? In moments like these, it is remarkably easy to let cynicism take root, to wonder if God has turned His face away, or to let the embers of your once-vibrant faith cool down to a bed of gray ash.
When we immerse ourselves in daily bible scriptures, we are immediately confronted with a vital spiritual truth: living for God in a fallen world is never a passive endeavor. It is an active, intentional battlefield. Consider the historic French Resistance during the darkest hours of World War II. A small, seemingly insignificant group of men and women dared to oppose the crushing might of a seemingly invincible regime. To an outside observer, their efforts appeared utterly futile, prompting a skeptic to ask how a handful of poorly armed individuals could possibly hope to defeat such overwhelming power. The legendary leader's response cuts straight to the heart of our spiritual reality: 'You do not understand. While we fight here, there is a massive army, an unprecedented force, waiting just across the English Channel. We do not know the exact hour the signal will be given, but when it sounds, that great armada will cross, and victory will be ours.'
